Parenting in the Age of AI: Raising Emotionally Strong Kids

Today’s kids are growing up with virtual assistants, smart toys, and even AI tutors. While these tools can make life easier, they also influence how children think, feel, and relate to the world. As parents, we need to ask: Are we raising emotionally intelligent kids in a world full of artificial interaction?

Children learn about emotions through real-life experiences—through watching how we respond, comfort, and connect. When too much emotional “teaching” is handed over to devices, we risk losing those valuable lessons. A child can ask a robot a question, but only a parent or caregiver can offer real emotional reassurance.

To raise strong, connected kids in a digital world, we must stay present. Use technology to enhance, not replace, your role. Balance screen time with talk time, and always keep space for honest conversations, laughter, and even tears. Human presence is still the most powerful learning tool.
